Description

A wonderful vintage clear glass sanitary cheese preserver with its original embossed glass lid. The lid retains the original directions for use, instructing the user to place one-third pint of vinegar and one tablespoon of salt, slightly diluted with water, in the bottom of the container. Raised glass ribs approximately 1 inch tall inside the base elevate the cheese above the preserving solution while allowing air circulation to help preserve freshness.

The glass base measures approximately 7.25 inches in diameter and 5 inches tall without the lid. The original lid fits securely and completes this attractive early kitchen storage piece. No cracks or chips were found. Two small enclosed air bubbles, one on each side of the container, are original manufacturing characteristics from the glassmaking process and are not damage. A great addition to a vintage kitchen collection, farmhouse décor, or early glassware display.
